It is so easy to get caught up in the stories we tell ourselves, and in the circumstances of our lives. We sometimes begin to lose sight of the bigger picture and live life as though there are no solutions to our situations. I have worked with individuals and families who have gone through immense challenges, all of whom have inspired me to further my training and help those willing and ready to seek assistance. I am passionate about people and continue to be amazed by the courage and strength of others. I firmly believe that we all have the capacity to bring about positive changes in our lives. Learning some strategies that can lead to improved coping and healing from painful experience can be one of the best gifts you give yourself.
Choosing to work with a therapist can be a difficult decision for anyone. I understand the apprehension that comes along with working with someone new and unfamiliar. One step at a time! I encourage you to call and speak with me over the phone so I can explain the process and offer you some flexible and affordable options as you begin this important journey of self-discovery.
I am currently a practicum therapist seeing clients under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Nikkhou, Clinical Neuropsychologist. I use elements from a variety of therapeutic approaches to support your growth, including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Bereavement Counselling. I incorporate a trauma-informed approach to my work and have experience working with individuals from many diverse backgrounds.
