My therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that challenging circumstances provide an opportunity for discovery, growth, and change.
If you have experienced a challenging past or are currently experiencing challenging circumstances it may be difficult to identify opportunities for change. You don’t have to navigate this alone. Psychotherapy offers a space to discover possibilities and make sense of things. Equipped with evidenced-based specialized techniques that can help us gain insight into your experiences, I will work compassionately, collaboratively, and creatively with you to define and reach your goals.
My approach is integrative. I enjoy teaching and exploring techniques from various therapeutic modalities and find a combination of approaches is often the most beneficial. Mindfulness-based techniques are helpful for addressing emotional pain, challenging emotions, anxiety, grief, depression, stress, burnout, trauma, feelings of confusion or anger. Mindfulness-based therapies offer a variety of techniques for examining our experience in a non-judgmental and compassionate way. Thinking about and observing our experience non-judgmentally and compassionately can be incredibly calming, healing and lead to stress-reduction. Whereas Cognitive Behavioral therapeutic techniques are helpful for identifying and for modifying thoughts or behavioral patterns in day-to-day life.
I approach each meeting with curiosity and will tailor my approach to your needs in the moment and in each session. There may be times when you prefer that I listen, support, and validate your experience or times when you may want to discover new techniques to pursue change, set goals, problem-solve, explore or processes feelings. I am sensitive to the fact that therapy is a process that requires adaptability, and I will be attuned to what you need during your process. I believe you are the expert of your experience, and I am here to provide tools to guide, support and empower you along the way.
