As a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying status), I have a keen passion for supporting those who seek to improve their mental health, well-being and quality of life. I recognize that it takes courage to take that first step in the healing journey and thus, I believe in meeting my clients where they are at. My experience comes from working with individuals living with grief and loss, trauma, substance use concerns, mood issues, and general feelings of being “stuck.” I practice from a place of non-judgment, respecting my client’s self-determination and empowering them towards their goals.
In your work with me, you can expect a collaborative relationship where we will create a safe space for you to explore and express your authentic self. My approach to counselling is primarily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which encourages clients to accept difficult feelings as a path forward and towards a meaningful life. I also make use of strategies from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness-based approaches.
