Entering therapy can be scary. There are so many things to think about. What happens if that tightly held container you’ve been putting things in opens and floods you? What happens if you feel more judgment and more shame from therapy? Opening up to another human being can be hard and therapy may feel like a calculated risk, and I understand this. It is a risk. What I can also tell you, though, is that I strive to provide you with a caring, respectful, non-judgmental environment. I want to give you the room to sort through your thoughts and feelings, without worrying about what I think. I want to help you navigate your emotional world with empathy, sensitivity, and patience. You will always be the guide, but I will assist you along way when helpful. More than anything, I want you to feel seen and comforted in our sessions together. Whether you’re struggling through anxiety or loneliness or heart break or shame or depression or are in the depths of addictive behaviours, or you just feel way too overwhelmed all the time, I believe in therapy and it’s potential to heal. I happily (but not exclusively) work with people who have had stigmatized life experiences. kumasijaygwynne.com
