Types of therapy:

Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Emotion-Focused (EFT), Internal Family System Approaches through an individualized and integrative approach to target lasting change.

I understand that for many, seeking therapy is a daunting process that can be overrun with feelings of doubt. Emotions, including anxiety, sadness, guilt, stress, overwhelmingness, and depression exist on a spectrum, and individuals who seek therapy often question whether their feelings are “deserving” of therapy.

I believe that a culturally-sensitive individualized and integrative approach allows each client’s needs to be met throughout the therapeutic process, collaboratively working towards the unique goals for therapy and this is what I strive to foster. As such, a sense of safety and understanding is my highest priority and I aim to honour the importance of the therapeutic relationship to create their courageous changes.

Kyana is a Counselling Intern pursuing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology; she has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Over the past three years, she has worked as an Adlerian-led teacher, creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow while supporting their overall development through early intervention. Additionally, she has volunteered as a youth mentor with Find Your Path and at the Distress Centre of Greater Toronto (DCGT), previously known as Spectra, offering compassionate care and crisis intervention for clients in distress.
