(She/Her) Hi my name is Larissa, and I am happy to have you visiting my Affordable Therapy Network page.
In my approach to therapy, I work with each client as an individual and whole human being, with each person’s own unique experiences leading to the creation of their individual story and lived experience. My hope is to work with clients who are looking to collaborate on their goals in order to overcome and challenge whatever issues are presently leading to stress, anxiety, depression, sadness, or felt burnout being experienced during their time presently. This could mean that we would not only work with present experiences, but also look to the past in exploring and deconstructing these events as a means to create connections with experiences being had in the now.
With a degree in Sexuality Studies, I work from a lens that considers the importance of intersections of identity, the need for multicultural literacy, and the necessity to provide and work from an anti-oppressive framework. I hold strong importance to the power of the client-counsellor relationship in allowing for the creation of pathways toward therapeutic healing, and provide empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard during work together. My hope is to sit beside clients who may be managing their struggles as a means to process them so that new and improved ways of approaching these experiences can be made. I enjoy utilizing approaches such as a Person-Centered Approach, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, CBT, ACT, Family Systems, Attachment-lenses, and techniques that work from a strengths-based and humanistic foundation.
If you believe that I may be a good fit for your therapy goals, do not hesitate to reach out so that we may book a phone consultation to further discuss your hopes and wishes in therapy. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
