Hi, I’m Laura, and I’m currently completing my Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Windsor. I bring over 15 years of frontline and clinical experience in child welfare, where I have supported children, youth, and families navigating complex and often overwhelming life circumstances
Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with individuals and families impacted by trauma, mental health challenges, addiction, parent–teen conflict, and family breakdown, including supporting neurodivergent youth, and families. Working in these spaces has taught me that resilience isn’t about being unaffected — it’s about finding ways to move forward with courage, support, and understanding.
My approach to counselling is trauma-informed, person-centred, and neuroaffirming. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences, process emotions, and build the skills needed to strengthen relationships and enhance wellbeing. I strongly believe that healing and growth are possible when you’re met with empathy, respect, and genuine care, and I work collaboratively with clients to support change at a pace that feels right for them.
As an MSW student therapist, I am passionate about continuing to deepen my clinical skills while bringing a strong foundation of professional experience, compassion, and curiosity into the counselling space. I value relationship-based work and feel honoured to walk alongside individuals, youth, and families on their healing journey.
