Healing is a creative, integrative process. It looks different for everybody but together we will find what works best for you. My job is to allow for the unfolding of thoughts, emotions, sensations, ambitions and uncertainties and to reflect them back at you in a way that provides you with new perspectives and greater insight into what you don’t realize you already know. I want you to feel like you can say whatever comes to mind without the fear of judgment and to help you make sense of what seems to be keeping you stuck in your life. Depending on what resonates with you individually and culturally I may draw on several theoretical approaches to healing while maintaining a non-pathologizing attitude. I often draw from psychodynamic, relational and parts work modalities, and may include somatic interventions to help you nurture the mind and body connection.
I primarily work with adults who have experienced trauma in childhood and individuals who feel stuck, depressed, anxious or a bit lost in life. You may be unsure of what it is you’re looking for but you feel that there are parts of yourself that are out of touch with the world and know that there is more to feel, see, and experience. In therapy, the deepening of self-awareness will help you to start making sense of things that right now, seem overwhelming. This exploration will help you to develop a deep relationship with the self – a connection that will lead to the deepening of relationships with the people you care about in your life. I believe that everyone has an innate capacity to grow, change and heal. I hope to help you find a better sense of balance in your life and to live with more purpose every day.
