Being a helper has always come naturally to me and has always been what brings me the most satisfaction and happiness in life. I have spent most of my professional life assisting people reconnect to their physical bodies as a rehabilitative Pilates instructor and have consistently been amazed and humbled by human resilience, compassion, and willingness to change for the better. It is these experiences that fuel my devotion to learning and continuing to accrue the necessary skills I need to provide the most effective and empathetic aid to my clients, as I complete my Master of Arts is Counselling Psychology. Working with different populations has given me unique insight into the ways in which our mental and physical bodies must be in harmony with one another to achieve true and long-lasting wellness. For this reason, breath work and movement are a crucial part of my holistic approach to therapeutic care.
While I don’t believe in using just one therapeutic modality for all unique clients, I am drawn to using a person-centred therapeutic approach, with elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and well as mindfulness based (MCBT) woven in. It is my inherent belief that all of us have the inherent skills to be well and heal. My goal is to create a strong, collaborative and respectful therapeutic relationship with all clients, where together, we can help you tap into those inherent skills, and achieve your wellness goals, both during treatment and long after.
