Therapy for Anxiety, Grief, Relationships & Identity
You may be carrying anxiety that makes it difficult to slow down, grief that has changed something in you, or the pressure of trying to hold everything together while feeling disconnected from yourself. You might be questioning where you belong, noticing the same patterns in your relationships, or trying to make sense of experiences that continue to stay with you.
My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by a curiosity about people, the stories we carry, and what helps us feel a sense of belonging. As an Iranian-Canadian who grew up navigating different cultures, values, and expectations, I learned that identity is rarely simple. Living between different worlds taught me the importance of listening first, remaining curious, and making room for experiences that do not fit neatly into one box.
My background in Sociology deepened my interest in how our relationships, cultures, communities, and social environments shape our inner lives. Today, as a Pre-Licensed Professional and MA in Theology student specializing in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy under clinical supervision, I support adults navigating anxiety, grief and loss, relationship concerns, identity and belonging, life transitions, and questions of meaning.
How I Can Support You
You do not need to have the right words or a clear plan before beginning therapy. We can start with what is happening for you now and become curious about it together.
Our work might include:
- understanding anxiety and what happens when you feel overwhelmed
- exploring recurring patterns in your relationships
- making space for grief, loss, and experiences that are difficult to put into words
- exploring cultural identity, belonging, or family and cultural expectations
- becoming more aware of your emotions, needs, boundaries, and values
- navigating life transitions, uncertainty, or feeling disconnected from yourself
- exploring spirituality or questions of meaning when they are important to you
My Approach
My approach is warm, relational, client-centred, and culturally responsive. I see therapy as a collaborative process where your experiences, identities, and ways of understanding the world remain at the centre.
I draw from psychodynamic, mindfulness-based, somatically informed, and person-centred perspectives. Together, we might become curious about how past experiences influence the present, explore patterns within your relationships, or notice how emotions show up in your body.
I do not believe everything needs to be understood or addressed all at once. Sometimes we can speak directly about what hurts; at other times, we may need to approach something slowly or from another angle. There can be wisdom in that pacing. This idea also reflects how I have come to understand therapeutic work through my training: approaching difficult experiences in a way that allows someone to remain engaged rather than pushing past their readiness.
If culture, spirituality, creativity, or questions of meaning are important parts of your life, they are welcome in our work together. There is also no expectation that they need to be part of therapy.
What You Can Expect
In our sessions, you can expect warmth, curiosity, and collaboration. I will listen carefully, ask questions, and help you notice connections or patterns that may be difficult to see when you are in the middle of them.
There can be room for uncertainty, silence, humour, difficult emotions, or simply not knowing what to say. We will move at a pace that respects your readiness.
Rather than deciding what your experiences mean for you, I want to understand them alongside you. My hope is that therapy can help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and feel more able to make choices that reflect who you are and what matters to you. This is consistent with the person-centred foundation you describe in your training, where autonomy, authenticity, meaning, growth, and the therapeutic relationship come before interpretation.
