Hi I’m Lincoln Grey (he/they), a passionate collaborator and disruptor located in Tkaronto (Treaty 13, colonially known as Toronto, ON). I’m a Registered Psychotherapist, with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I offer services that support couples/various relationship dynamics and individually-focused needs. Important to name; I don’t “treat” folks, I offer help and support. Over the last several years I’ve honed my counselling and psychotherapeutic skills through practical development, ongoing supervision, peer support and education. Participants can expect to experience a collaborative dynamic, personal disclosures of lived experience when appropriate, gentle humour and genuine care are key ways that I show up in therapeutic relationships.
I offer services online and in-person (Toronto – until end of Sept) weekday afternoon, evenings and Saturdays 11am-2pm. As we exist in capitalism and I honour my values that mental health care shouldn’t be paid out of pocket or a barrier. I do as I can to make services more accessible with sliding scale options and direct billing with health benefit coverage. As a life long learner and I practice an evolving development of knowledge and skills with the goal of living aligned to what’s important to you and when needed to heal ourselves and better be in relation with others.
Outside of my helping role, I’ve developed skills in educational health program design, community engagement and partnerships, and participatory action research. I’m a AuDHD polyqueer non-binary white and cis male passing individual which informs my life experiences and my commitment to addressing health and social inequities as a service provider and citizen of the world. As a settler, I’m dedicated to unlearning and relearning the history of the colonized lands which I reside/work within and being engaged with social issues. Embracing lifelong learning and growth, I actively seek opportunities for new knowledge and meaningful and difficult discussions. I share awareness of injustices, engage in social activism, and participate in community and cultural experiences of my identity and of others’ when invited.
While holding of knowledge often is looked for from a therapist, my approach encourages an openness to returning of expertise to the participant. As I appreciate the I do also carry my own lived, professional and academic privledge and knowledge. I practice my role as a facilitator of the relationship and process where we focus on exploring (re)discovering existing strengths and values that support moving towards the agreed upon goals. This is why services offered encourage a collaborative and tailored experience to goals of awareness, healing and growth through values-led exploration and identity/experience validation. It may be helpful in your search to know more about some key areas I’ve helped previous/ongoing collaborators (in no particular order):
- exploring and rediscovering values, strengths and desires,
- managing stress and burnout (neurotypical/neurodivergent),
- providing a supportive environment for neurodivergent experiences, adapting/compromising, unmasking care and strategies,
- affirming gender/sexual identities and processing internalized beliefs or discrimination
- navigating relationships (ethical non-monogamous/monogamous) and (chosen/biological) family/community dynamics.
- safely processing and healing from life experiences, trauma, grief and life transitions.
I work in an integrative approach primarily with person-centred, acceptance commitment, narrative and solutions-focused therapy beliefs/tools. I strive to uphold a non-judgmental, unbiased, safer, and cultural humble space for collaborators to feel validated and living in their values. I encourage and prompt session feedback and conversations with participants around referring/transitioning to other practitioners, resources or tools when appropriate/agreed upon.
