Life can sometimes be chaotic, complex, or overwhelming, leaving us struggling to recover from our experiences and unable to discern a path toward. In such times we may need therapeutic assistance on our journey of self-discovery, transformation and healing.
I am a master’s student in counselling psychology committed to meeting people where they are in a supportive, non-judgmental environment, adapting to what you need at this time. I seek to establish strong therapeutic relationships, allowing us to work together to gently explore your thoughts, emotions and bodily symptoms, to ultimately increase your self-understanding and foster a life aligned with your values leading you to greater wholeness. My practice is informed by the belief that regardless of the challenges we face, our inner seeds of resilience, joy, and growth can be re-activated. I firmly believe we can heal from the past, develop positive behaviours, improve our relationships, accept ourselves and become the person we seek to be.
My therapeutic stance is intentionally integrative, weaving together Narrative, Cognitive, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), amongst others, with the depth of Relational and Adlerian perspectives. I provide a collaborative, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive space where you can explore your story at a pace that feels right for you.
You may have noticed that I am old for a student. Yes, I spent most of my career in IT and am an chartered professional accountant. My interest in therapy links to studies in my early adulthood in Assaulted Women and Children’s Counselling and Advocacy and related volunteer roles. Having fulfilled my financial obligations as a parent, I am now committed to providing low cost therapy to those that would otherwise be unable to afford it. I have a particular interest in working with individuals or couples struggling with financial behaviours and patterns. I am excited to bring a lifetime of lived experience into the therapy room.
