Hi, My name is Lisa (She/Hers) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Ontario.
I am currently finishing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University and I also hold a Bachelors of Arts in Human Services and Criminology, as well as, a Bachelors of Arts in Therapeutic Recreation.
I believe everyone can benefit from talking to another about life’s triumphs and challenges. Therapy can be a wonderful option for all, no matter the level of need. Whether it is to maintain a semblance of normality, control, and comfort in one’s life or to work through some of our most difficult experiences and struggles. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgemental environment where my clients can build the skills and strategies to feel confident and self-aware in their decisions and relationships. Using a person-centred approach, I feel it is paramount for my clients to be able to share their true selves in session. All ideas, beliefs, and values are accepted and celebrated.
With 14 years experience in the field of children, teen, and family mental health I have supported many clients ranging from 0-18 years old. I strongly believe in the importance of early childhood development and supporting children and their families to work through trauma, understanding formal diagnosis, and adaptive living for neuro diverse clients.
I bring with me experience and training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, Internal Family Systems, Gottman’s Couples Counselling, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Skills, Brief-Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
I look forward to meeting you and making therapy a supportive and positive experience!
