About…

As you attempt to manage life’s demands and live up to both internal and external standards, it’s natural to feel disconnected or uncertain, making it harder to feel confident or fulfilled. But even when it feels difficult, rediscovering your authentic self is within reach. I, Madiha Haque, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) bring a therapeutic approach that allows me to connect deeply with clients from diverse backgrounds. With fluency in Urdu and Punjabi in addition to English, I offer understanding and support to individuals who may feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their native language. I take an eclectic approach, drawing from Person-Centered, Narrative, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and a blend of Psychodynamic techniques, ensuring that each client receives a tailored and unique experience. The therapeutic interventions I offer are culturally sensitive and strength based to provide clients with a space that is non-judgmental and where they can feel empowered to heal. I offer support by ensuring that our sessions are innovative and responsive to each client’s needs.

Through my Master’s in Counseling Psychology, I have developed extensive skills working with various populations, who face a wide range of mental health challenges. And with the support from my supervisor, Jessica Ng, you will receive additional support with her skills and mine combined. Furthermore, my background in medicine allows me to approach both the psychological and physiological aspects of care, fostering a holistic approach to well-being. During therapy, I keep an approach of empathy and active listening, helping clients explore their past, address difficult emotions, and find the strength to move forward. My therapeutic approach also involves the integration of solution-focused techniques, that help clients set clear goals, achieve tangible outcomes, and build the resilience they need to overcome life’s obstacles. This combination of emotional support and practical guidance provide guidance for both healing and actionable steps towards empowerment.

I aspire to create an environment where clients feel safe, heard, and supported and I am passionate about working with marginalized populations and those who face stigma in seeking help. Whether they are struggling with anxiety, trauma, or grief, I am here to guide them through the healing process and help them find balance in life. I believe that my holistic, multicultural, and client-centred approach will resonate with those looking for a therapist who not only understands their unique needs but is fully dedicated to helping them thrive.
