Maia (she/her) aims to provide a safe, empathetic and compassionate therapeutic space that is holistic and integrated, so you can explore your challenges and gifts in a supportive way. She encourages people to trust their own inner wisdom. Her view on the therapeutic relationship is as a collaboration and she holds the belief that people are the experts of their own lives.
Maia works from a strengths-based, solution focused, anti-oppressive framework to support people in creating new stories for their lives. Experienced in various psychotherapeutic modalities (Internal Family Systems, Emotional Freedom Technique, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy), she values collaboration, equity, mutual respect, and compassion.
Maia has worked in the publicly funded mental health field for 14 years. She has served on a volunteer board of directors for a local community agency, and she earned her Bachelor of Social Work with Honours from York University in 2007, and her Masters of Social Work from the University of Windsor in 2019. Maia believes in people’s innate desire to grow and change and feels honoured to be part of these journeys.
