Hello there! My name is Mamta and I have worked in healthcare for the past two decades. I started working with slum dwellers in Mumbai (India) in the early nineties as a primary physician, in 2003, I acquired a diploma in counseling to support my patients from diverse backgrounds. I worked in slums, rural and urban areas in India and also worked as a volunteer in an organization providing mental health support to patients with schizophrenia. In 2010, I acquired a diploma in Yoga and mindfulness to help my patients with a guiding philosophy to solve the problems of life. I immigrated to Canada in 2012, where I acquired a diploma in registered massage therapy in 2016, worked in other clinics, and also developed my home-based business in massage therapy. Due to my passion for mental health, I enrolled in Masters in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program offered by Yorkville University in 2021. I completed my clinical internship at Touchstone Health located in the Blaine town of Washington, USA (September 2022-April 2023). My exposure to the diverse range of mental health problems and the support from my supervisors at Touchstone prepared me to develop the confidence to develop my own practice.
