Hello, Kumusta? I’m Mayu. I’m a BIPOC, first-generation immigrant woman, and my lived experiences with mental health and migration deeply influence how I show up as a therapist. I hold a special commitment to supporting Filipino/Filipinx and other immigrant communities as they navigate the layered realities of cultural identity, family expectations, and emotional well-being.
Having grown up in environments where mental health was often stigmatized or overlooked. I understand the pain of not having emotional experiences fully seen or validated. These early experiences are at the heart of my dedication to offering culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and compassionate care.
I believe healing starts in spaces where people feel truly safe, where they can express themselves without fear of judgment and be met with empathy, curiosity, and care. In our work together, I offer a non-judgmental and affirming space that centres your voice, your story, and your pace. My approach is collaborative and grounded in deep listening, shaped by past work in the community, end-of-life care and with individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
I see therapy as a journey we walk together, one rooted in mutual respect, emotional safety, and trust. While the path may not always be easy, it can be one of deep insight, healing, and growth.
