Hi there! My name is Mariya and I am a recent graduate from Yorkville University’s Masters of Arts Counselling Psychology. Many of my clients seek support while navigating grief, trauma, relationship challenges, or major life transitions that feel heavier than expected. You may feel unsettled, stuck, or unsure about the next steps — and that’s completely okay.
As a counsellor, my goal is to help people become the best version of themselves. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused techniques to help clients gain insight, build practical coping tools, and move toward meaningful change. I bring my own experiences and values into my work to build genuine connection and understanding with each person. I strive to create a warm, safe space where people can be vulnerable, explore their true selves, and feel genuinely seen and supported on their journey of growth.
By the end of each session, my hope is that clients leave feeling motivated, accomplished, and more hopeful about themselves and their future. The current demographic that I work and connect with are individual adults, but would like to explore my options in working with youth and teens. As I work in developing my skills and experience, I hope to widen my knowledge in learning more about new techniques and approaches and what my clients have to offer.
