Feeling powerless and believing you can’t change your circumstances can be paralyzing, but I understand these struggles firsthand. As someone who has personally navigated anxiety, intergenerational trauma, life transitions, and challenging family dynamics, I bring both personal experience and an analytical perspective rooted in neuroscience to my therapeutic approach. This blend deepens my understanding of how the brain influences behaviour, allowing me to offer more effective support.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a student of MA Counseling Psychology, I integrate psychodynamic therapy with body-oriented techniques, all within an anti-oppression, trauma-informed, and queer-affirming framework. Compassionate listening is at the heart of my practice, creating a safe space where your experiences are deeply heard and respected. My experience as an Iranian immigrant allows me to provide therapy in both English and Farsi, bringing a nuanced perspective to our sessions.
While suffering is often viewed as a burden, it can also be a powerful force for growth. As Carl Jung said:
‘I am not what happened to me; I am what I choose to become.‘
Pain can guide us toward uncovering deeper layers of resilience and self-discovery. If this resonates with you, I invite you to book a free 30-minute consultation to explore whether we’re a good fit.
Please email tkpsychotherapy@proton.me and state my name so the clinic can forward me your request.
