About Martha

Psychology has always fascinated me and from a young age, I knew I wanted to pursue a helping profession. I find people intriguing – our relationships, behaviours, struggles, and triumphs. My passion is to explore and understand the things that make us who we are and help others as we all navigate the world together. Outside of being a therapist, I am a plant mom to five cacti and bonsai tree. I enjoy baking (cookies are my favourite!), spending time outdoors (especially kayaking), and trying out new cafes with friends (I love a good iced coffee). I’ve also recently learned how to crochet and have been working on creating several items to donate to centers that support disadvantaged families and communities. I’m grateful that my hobby lets me relax and be creative, while also helping others!

About Martha as a Therapist

Hi and welcome! My name is Martha (she/her) and I’m an Intern Therapist. Taking the first step to reach out for support takes courage – I’m glad you’re here. In my practice, I prioritize building a therapeutic relationship that is safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental, which will provide us with a strong foundation to explore the challenges you’re facing. I know that opening up can feel scary, so we will go at the pace that you feel most comfortable. I also believe that there is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy and we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and find what is most helpful for you. This is your journey, and we will navigate it together to create the changes you’re hoping for in your life. I am eager to hear your story and explore how your past and present experiences, relationships, thoughts, feelings, and behaviours have shaped the person you are today. I strive to create a space that is trauma-informed and anti-oppressive, and where all parts of you (beliefs, values, identities, etc.) are welcomed and respected. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you and beginning our work together. You deserve to feel supported, empowered, and fulfilled in your life!
