There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you ~ Maya Angelou
If that story consists of painful life experiences, there may be the tendency hide your story and isolate yourself from other and the world. Your story matters. Your path to healing is important. I hope to support your healing and recovery through a nurtured connection and a strong, empathic relationship.
As a holistic Social Worker, I place a strong emphasis on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions of health and wellness. I work within an inclusive, trauma-informed, anti-racist, anti-oppressive framework that incorporates principles of intersectionality. Moreover, I practice from a culturally relevant, client-centred, strength-based, perspective, centred on a non-judgemental, collaborative approach. With compassion, honesty, warmth, and presence, I hope to hold space for clients to use their innate curiosity and introspection to address the root causes of their challenges, strengthen relationships, and build meaningful social connections.
I incorporate elements of various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Attachment-focused Psychotherapy, Trauma Therapy and Mindfulness. I include trauma-informed principles into practice, that also considers the impacts of complex trauma, racial trauma, intergenerational and multigenerational trauma on individuals and communities, particularly Black and Indigenous communities.
I am ready to walk beside you on your healing journey.
