I get it—choosing to start therapy can be hard and trying to choose a therapist can make it harder. You might not even know what your ‘goals’ are yet, just that you don’t want things to be like this anymore. If ‘this’ sounds something like…
- desperately wanting life to be different but struggling to see how it could change
- feeling overwhelmed and out of control in your life and/or your relationships
- beating yourself up over some version of perfection you can never seem to reach
- trying to make everyone else happy, even though it makes you really, really UNhappy
… then I could be a good fit to team up with you on the path to change, growth, and healing.
My approach is based on the idea that no single skill or method can be expected to cover every topic that comes up in therapy, in the same way you wouldn’t use a hammer when you need a paintbrush. I’m committed to ongoing learning and have training in several evidence-supported methods so that we have a bunch of tools to tackle whatever arises in our work together.
I am currently completing my Master of Social Work degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, and I have started training in topics related to body image and eating disorders. I draw from a variety of experiences in human services, as well as years of personal experience sitting on the other side of the couch. If you’re interested, please reach out for a free consultation so we can chat before you make a decision.
