I am a psychotherapy intern who practices with an emphasis on developing a strong therapeutic relationship. What you can expect from me as your therapist, is to always hold space for you within a non-judgemental, supportive, encouraging, and empathetic environment. I seek to encourage your growth, and help you learn new techniques to address patterns and behaviours that may have been problematic in your life thus far.
My view on psychotherapy is one which provides the opportunity to realize existing strengths and wisdom already gained through overcoming difficult experiences and life events. Interventions related to improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, stress, and trauma are just a few areas where I provide support. I also provide support for other mental health concerns within both clinical and community settings.
I practice from a person-centered approach, that values your own ability to initiate, and achieve self-improvement. I will also employ a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities including Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Existential Psychotherapy. Modalities used will be based on the presenting issues of each individual, however I value evidence-based practices to achieve the best results.
