In my practice, I have focused on treating mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and difficulty with executive function. These issues have a lot of overlap between them, and a lot more people struggle with these challenges than many realize, including those that suffer from them. We tend to feel pretty alone when struggling with mental health issues, and this makes them feel unbeatable. You’re not alone, and these issues are not unbeatable. Together we will work to identify what elements are impacting your functioning, understand them, and work piece by piece to either change them, mitigate them, or learn to cope with them.
I use a client-centred approach (we set goals collaboratively and use them to measure progress) with a psychodynamic base (an exploratory lens) and an integrative toolkit that includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology (formal skills for change).
Reaching out for help takes courage, and I recognize the challenge in taking that first step. I will quickly get back to you with potential slots for a 15-minute consultation so we can discuss my approach, address any questions, and help you assess if I’m a suitable therapist for you. Remember, you’re not in this alone—I look forward to hearing from you!
