Life can be challenging, stressful, and difficult at times. Friends and family can listen, however may not know how to help you make decisions that are in line with your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. When there seems to be no where to turn, therapy may be the answer. I am a student therapist, practicing under supervision, with twenty years experience in mental health guidance and treatment. Therapy can assist you in understanding and articulating your concerns and goals so that you can move forward to improve your quality of life as well as your relationships. Booking a session may be the start of a productive and supportive professional relationship.
I am a caring, compassionate, and nonjudgemental person who values individuality by assisting to create a sense of autonomy and personal voice through active listening, examination of what is stopping you from problem solving, and encouraging recognition of your positive traits and accomplishments. I want to hear your life story from your perspective before working together to determine a treatment process and goals. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Narrative Therapy, or Solution Focused Therapy may be options that we would consider dependent upon what you want to accomplish in the sessions.
