In case no one’s told you today: your sensitive nature is not a weakness, feeling anxious or overwhelmed is not a personal failing, and sometimes it actually is “that deep”—and those courageous enough to work through it often find more ease and connection on the other side.
Hi, I’m Pip. If you’re feeling alone in life’s challenges, or like you need to be more, do more, or feel and care less, I’m glad you’re here.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and MA in Counselling Psychology student under clinical supervision, I offer low cost therapy and sliding scale therapy aimed at helping you untangle what’s holding you back, so you can begin to move forward with clarity and confidence.
I support adults and teens experiencing:
- Stress and anxiety (overwhelm, constant worry)
- Sensory Processing Sensitivity (Highly sensitive person)
- Self-abandonment (people pleasing, boundary setting, perfectionism)
- Shame and low self-esteem
- Emotional and mental burnout
- Life transitions (moving, changing careers, becoming a parent)
- Depression and low mood
My approach is person-centered, strengths-based, 2SLGBTQ+-affirming, and grounded in social justice. In our work together, everything that makes you you is embraced, respected, and recognized as part of your unique strength and story.
Therapeutic frameworks I draw from include:
- Psychodynamic therapy
- Narrative therapy
- Relational therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT)
Together, we’ll explore present and past experiences and work toward greater awareness and understanding of thoughts, emotions, and patterns. Moving at your pace, we’ll bring to light what’s no longer working and start creating the path that brings you closer to how you want to live and feel.
A bit about me:
Psychotherapy is a profession I’ve been drawn to since my first visit to a counsellor as a teenager, but my path to it has not been linear. I studied English at Western University, then wrote for an arts magazine before moving to South Korea to teach English for three years—an experience I will forever be grateful for. I came to Toronto in 2010 to study copywriting, and began a career in advertising. I worked in high-pressure environments for a few years before finding more balance as a freelance copywriter. I have been working towards a Masters in Counselling Psychology and am beginning my practice of psychotherapy.
Much of the experience with therapy and mental health that I bring to my practice is personal. I’ve navigated my own experiences with distress, therapy, growth, and healing, and have assisted and advocated for loved ones navigating mental health programs, supports, and resources. I have deep respect and empathy for anyone struggling or seeking support, as a result of my own experiences, and thanks to my loved ones who have allowed me to be part of theirs.
I have one creative, big-hearted kid who calls me “mama”, and I also see motherhood in broader terms. “The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe,” as James Baldwin said. We can do better for children and all people made vulnerable by the systems we live within, and this belief informs both my personal and professional practice. Anti-racist and decolonial action go hand-in-hand with this belief.
Fit is important. Let’s feel it out:
No pressure or expectations. In our free 45-minute consultation we’ll check in and I can answer any questions you have about therapy. If that feels overwhelming, I can take the lead and simply tell you about myself and how we might work together. I understand that it’s a big step to reach out and speak with someone new. Know that we’ll be in it together, taking that step with one another.
