Therapy can feel joyful, along with the relief of getting help with tough moments. I support people with low mood, burnout, anxiety, depression, life transitions, managing at work and school, parenting, neurodivergence, culture, sexuality, and coping with the state of the world. I work in a relational and psychodynamic way with mindfulness and somatic practices. I integrate helpful aspects of Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy as makes sense for your goals.
I offer therapy in-person on the Danforth, in the Annex, and online through secure platforms. I offer weekdays, some nights, and weekends.
The heart of our work is our strong connection. We name what you are experiencing, the context and impact, and together we find hope and agency. We find the right balance of feeling things together, addressing problems together and identifying strengths and practising skills. We work together to personalize your healing path.
In our hour together, we might explore what’s happening in your life on a practical and existential level, unpack a shared moment together, reflect on how thoughts, feelings and actions might be influencing each other, and/or problem-solve ongoing or upcoming issues with practical coping strategies.
I bring 25 years of community experience across shelters, community health centres, higher education and hospitals.
If you’re curious about whether we’d be a good fit, I invite you to reach out to ‘therapy (at) rabea murtaza (dot) ca’ for a no-cost consultation by phone or video chat. I’m here to support you on your journey toward healing and growth.

How does my sliding scale work? It’s an adapted Green Bottle method.
1. If you have benefits, either directly or through someone else, please investigate your coverage and what that would work out to weekly or biweekly. It depends on each plan.
2. If you do NOT have benefits:
Full rate: you own property, have savings, and are able to spend on ‘wants’
Mid tier sliding scale ($120-$140): You mostly live pay cheque to pay cheque but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc. If you, however, can ask others for financial support, such as family members or partners, please consider using those personal resources.
My lowest tier sliding scale spots are unfortunately currently full.
3. Reflect on a goal you might want to work towards. Do you want ongoing sessions, or to meet 4-6 times, or 8-12 times? I can also support you in identifying something workable within those time frames. Therapy does not have to be long term to be beneficial.
