I am a Registered Social Worker and the founder of Aworie Health and Wellness Services. I focus my personal counselling practice on body confidence, disordered eating, and self-esteem improvement. Some of the areas I address in individual counselling include how to maintain and strengthen self-confidence, enhance self-compassion, improve relationships, and explore concerns related to identity. I help individuals strengthen coping skills and self-care, and I also focus on helping individuals develop strategies to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. My hope is to support clients as they strengthen the relationship they have with themselves by addressing issues related to negative self-talk and internalized body shame.
I have additional experience helping individuals with weight loss, weight gain and weight stigma/discrimination. My approach is trauma-informed, client-centred, racially/culturally sensitive, and strengths-focused. I aim to help support groups that are body-positive, trans-positive, and mother allied.
I use an integrative approach guided by attachment-based therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and neuro-linguistic programming. I work to help clients identify their deep-rooted core beliefs, develop strategies to alleviate their negative symptoms, and strategize ways to move forward into a more fulfilling life.
