About…

Ruby (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a practicum student completing her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. With a deep love of learning, she holds a PhD in Cognition and Perception from Western University and has published research on executive functioning, mood, mindfulness, and motivation. In addition, Ruby is a certified yoga instructor who has completed several mindfulness and meditation trainings, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and this informs her holistic, strengths-based approach to therapy.

Growing up navigating many of the struggles common to neurodivergent children and young adults, and having close family experience with ADHD, she has lived experience with the complexities of ADHD & ASD herself across her lifespan. Ruby is dedicated to supporting individuals in better understanding themselves and managing life’s demands to foster greater self-acceptance and resilience. She also enjoys working with adolescents and their families, clients navigating major life transitions, including grief and loss, and supporting people who are highly sensitive, gifted or twice/thrice exceptional.

In her work as a therapist, Ruby offers an authentic, warm, and trauma-informed presence, creating a space where clients can explore their experiences without judgment. She guides clients in cultivating self-awareness, reconnecting with their feelings, needs, and strengths, and developing self-compassion. Through this process, clients are empowered to relate to themselves and others with greater clarity, confidence, and compassion.

Outside of her professional work, Ruby enjoys spending time with her children, reading (literature and poetry), walking in nature, and listening to music. She looks forward to one day dedicating more time to travelling, furthering her studies in yoga and mindfulness, and writing.
