Hello, my name is Ryan (he/him), and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and MACP Practicum Student at Brighter Path Psychotherapy and Wellness, where I provide affordable therapy under clinical supervision.
Before entering the counselling field, I spent more than a decade working in civilian roles with the Ontario Provincial Police, including anti-human trafficking, cybercrime investigations, digital forensics, and work involving high-risk offenders. My work exposed me to complex and difficult situations and gave me firsthand insight into human behaviour, the impact of difficult experiences, and what it can be like to carry things without talking about them.
You do not need to be in crisis or know exactly what is wrong to begin therapy. You may simply feel stressed, irritable, overwhelmed, disconnected, or tired of handling everything on your own. My role is to help you understand what is happening, identify what you would like to change, and find practical ways to move forward.
I want therapy to feel useful and relevant to your life. Some sessions may provide space to talk through what you are experiencing, while others may focus more actively on patterns, perspectives, or specific goals. We may also practise difficult conversations, setting boundaries, being more assertive, navigating conflict, or managing challenging social situations.
My work draws from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, CBT, Person-Centred Therapy, and role-play. I provide online individual therapy across Ontario and offer a free 15-minute consultation if you would like to see whether working together feels like a good fit.
