You’ve been getting through each day, but somewhere along the way, you’ve stopped feeling like yourself. Maybe anxiety has become your constant companion, you’re overwhelmed by life’s demands, or you’re wondering why you keep falling into the same patterns. Whatever brought you here, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
About Me:
Growing up in a traditional Latino household, mental health was rarely talked about. Emotions were often felt deeply but rarely named, and difficult experiences were more likely to be dismissed than explored. That silence sparked a lifelong curiosity about why people think, feel, and behave the way they do. The more I tried to understand the people around me, the more I came to understand myself. That curiosity eventually led me to counselling psychology, and it’s the same curiosity I bring into every therapy session.
I have experience in the legal field, giving me experience in the pressures of high-achieving environments and the importance of caring for our mental well-being before reaching burnout. Having also lived in several countries before making Canada home, I understand how culture, identity, and life transitions can shape the way we experience ourselves and our relationships. Alongside this, volunteering with vulnerable populations has deepened my capacity to sit with a wide range of human experience and pain. These experiences continue to inform the way I show up in the therapy room with genuine interest, compassion, and respect for each person’s unique story.
I can help with:
- Feelings of anxiety, excessive worry, stress, and low mood;
- Life transitions and adjustment;
- Personal growth, self-discovery, and meaning-making;
- Overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, guilt, and self-doubt;
- Feeling stuck, disconnected, or like something is ‘off’;
- Identity exploration and cultural identity;
- Relationship challenges and communication;
- Emotional regulation and coping skills;
- Academic stress and career-related pressures;
- Burnout and caregiver/parent stress; and
- Maternal mental health, including fertility challenges, pregnancy, perinatal, and postpartum concerns.
How I support you:
Therapy isn’t about ‘fixing you’; it’s about helping you understand yourself more deeply and develop the tools to move forward in ways that align with who you are.
Together, we’ll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build practical coping strategies, strengthen self-awareness, and create space for lasting change. I aim to offer both gentle curiosity and meaningful challenge, meeting you where you are while supporting your growth.
I value creating a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to bring your whole self into the room, including the parts that may feel uncertain, conflicted, or difficult to talk about.
My Approach
As a Pre-Licensed Professional and MA in Counselling Psychology student under clinical supervision, I integrate the following modalities, while remaining flexible to your unique needs, goals, and lived experiences:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): helps us understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another and develop practical strategies for change.
- Person-Centered Therapy: emphasizes empathy, authenticity, and collaboration, creating a space where you feel genuinely understood.
- Existential Therapy: invites us to explore questions of identity, purpose, freedom, and what it means to live a meaningful life. It is grounded in the belief that you’re capable of shaping your own life.
We’ll collaboratively explore the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and the experiences that shaped you. While we can’t always change what has happened to us, we can begin to understand how those experiences influence the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. Healing is rarely about addressing one problem in isolation. I take a holistic view of well-being, recognizing that our mental health is influenced by our relationships, culture, work, physical health, identity, and sense of purpose.
Above all, I believe therapy is a form of self-care, not a last resort. It’s an opportunity to pause, reflect, and invest in yourself with openness, and compassion. I don’t come into sessions assuming i have all the answers, instead, we’ll explore them together.
