About…

If you are reading this, you have taken the first step in answering your questions and seeking the help you need. These first steps can be scary, and you may feel unsure or uneasy. Looking at therapy sites can be daunting, especially if you are feeling out of sorts. You may feel exhausted, and it’s too difficult to decide. These feelings can overwhelm your senses, and you may feel detached from your thoughts, feelings, and even your body. Rest assured, you’ve landed at the right place.

I’m Sarah, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), completing a Master of Arts in counselling psychology at Yorkville University. As a therapist and yoga teacher, my guiding philosophy centers around a person-centred, integrative approach that values everyone’s uniqueness and autonomy. I am supervised by a Registered Psychotherapist who meets the requirements of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario to ensure quality care. Coming from a trauma-informed background, I am deeply committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming therapeutic environment for everyone, irrespective of their background or identity. From my various trainings, I favour therapeutic modalities from trauma-informed, mindfulness-based interventions, solution-focused, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy and somatic therapy. At the core of my therapeutic practice is a belief in the transformative power of empathy. This belief guides my client interactions. I want you to feel cared for as we build a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust and genuine care. Common concerns that I work with are anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, grief and life transitions. My previous role as a cancer coach has given me the skills to support those dealing with chronic pain and chronic illness, as well as navigating the needs of those in a caregiver role.

Working with you is a collaboration. This means that you are not alone in your journey. My goal is to empower you to navigate your challenges, cultivate self-compassion, and embark on a journey of personal growth and healing. We will build a space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly and authentically. I offer a free consultation to see if we are the right fit. But rest assured, if we are not, I will suggest someone else on our team who is.
