As we all aim to be the best versions of ourselves throughout our lives, I hope to join you on this journey of positive change and growth. Choosing to start therapy can get overwhelming and intimidating at times, however, my goal is to make this experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible for you. Throughout my work with clients, I hope to take the time to better understand their life experiences, build adaptive coping mechanisms, while supporting them through the implementation of positive life transitions.
I strive to provide my clients with a safe and non-judgmental environment where they feel cared for. Building a strong, collaborative relationship with my clients is one of my top priorities as I want to ensure that my clients are receiving an ample amount of support and empathy. As I hold high regards for a client-centred approach, I am dedicated to constructing a treatment plan that is unique to every individual’s needs, goals, and strengths.
As I have lived experience surrounding some of the challenges that first-generation, Punjabi-Canadian individuals may undergo, I hope to use that experience to relate and connect with clients who come from a diverse range of backgrounds.
I am currently working as a Psychotherapy Intern at Relationship Therapy Mississauga while also completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Some of my areas of interest include supporting clients who experience challenges with stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, self-confidence, and life transitions. A few of the techniques and therapeutic approaches that I identify with include Mindfulness, Dialogical, Solution-Focused, Narrative, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.
