Welcome to a space where you can feel seen, heard, and accepted for who you are and everything that you show up with. I know taking this next step is scary but let’s do this together!
I believe that progress is made from the ground up with a supportive, non-judgemental, and caring relationship. You are the expert of your own experiences, and I am here to help facilitate self-compassion, growth, and self-acceptance.
I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable to share both the big and small victories as well as the losses. I want you to feel like there is no problem too big or too small in our sessions because everything that you bring to the table is important when taking a psychosocial approach to your care. We will work collaboratively to achieve your goals at your own pace as you are the expert of your own journey. I want you to feel like you are in control of your life and that you have the power to make the changes that you desire.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, culturally sensitive, affirmative, and collaborative. I am passionate about supporting 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients who are struggling with their identity, relationships, and gender/racial based trauma. This passion stems from my lived experience with my own mental health and racial trauma that comes from living in a non-diverse and oppressive community during my most influential years.
Working from a client-centered and psychosocial approach, I draw from various therapeutic modalities and tailor each session to what makes the most sense for you. During our time together I could pull from modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, attachment-focused therapy, and strengths-based therapy.
