Reaching out for support can be frightening and overwhelming. While being in therapy is challenging, it can also be rewarding and transformational.
I offer support for individuals struggling with a mental health condition, life transitions, self-esteem, family and relationship issues, and trauma. I am a certified Gestalt Psychotherapist and Occupational Therapist, and have many years of experience working with adults experiencing mental health conditions. I use my integrated skills to help you explore your struggles which prevent you from living a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
We often carry ingrained patterns of behaviour that were necessary at one time in our lives, but may no longer be serving us. With psychotherapy we can learn to sense what is happening in our bodies, enabling us to gain greater awareness of these patterns, honour our feelings, and make better choices for ourselves.
Growing up I felt pressured to conform and meet others’ expectations. I’ve since learned that we live our lives putting on a façade in order to cope with pressures we experience in our daily lives. I believe we can become more fulfilled when we discover what lies beneath the façade and embrace our unique selves. I believe that self-growth involves exploring, understanding and accepting our authentic selves.
My style is warm, accepting and compassionate. I strive to be genuine and fully engaged with you. I believe in your inner capacity to grow and be more true to yourself. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to help you feel more comfortable in sharing your concerns as you journey towards healing and becoming your authentic self.
