Hello, my name is Sheffy and I’m a Psychotherapist. I’m so glad that you’re taking a step towards improving your mental health. It’s a privilege to be listed with all these wonderful folks on this page and like others, I enjoy working with people and supporting them on their wellness journey. I offer individual therapy to clients 12 years and up.
You can expect me to be open, non-judgmental and compassionate during our sessions. I value your courage to engage in therapy and it is of utmost important to me to ensure that you feel safe and supported. I believe you are the expert in your life and that my role is to help you draw on your strengths to navigate difficult and challenging situations. During our initial sessions, we will collaborate on creating goals for therapy and I will tailor my approach unique to your needs. Many times, I will share skills and strategies that have been researched and shown to be effective in coping with the concerns you present with.
I have worked in many mental health settings in the past in various helping roles. I have also witnessed the journey of countless individuals who struggled with concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationships, stress, trauma, abuse, etc. I use an integrative approach which means that I draw on elements of CBT, ACT, DBT, Mindfulness and many other therapy modalities.
