About…

Hey, I’m Simi

I see you.

You might be the person everyone relies on, the one who always finds a way to keep going, even when you’re exhausted. From the outside, things may look fine, but inside you’re carrying stress, anxiety, loneliness, burnout, or the weight of trying to manage everything on your own. You don’t have to keep doing that alone. Therapy can be a space where you finally slow down, breathe, and make sense of what’s been weighing on you.

I am passionate about helping people navigate identity, fear of the unknown, belonging, and life transitions because I know firsthand what it means to need support and not know how to ask for it. I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed by loneliness and the weight of doing everything alone. And I know what it means to keep going even when there is no one to lean on.

That is exactly why I do this work.

About Me

I am an immigrant, counsellor, and advocate who has spent years supporting individuals navigating complex systems, life transitions, and emotional challenges.

My lived experience helps me understand what it feels like to start over, navigate cultural expectations, and carry responsibilities that others may not always see.

I bring active listening, genuine empathy, cultural humility, and deep curiosity to every session. I won’t make you explain yourself before we get to the real work. Your full story including the parts shaped by culture, grief, migration, life transitions, and survival is welcomed and honoured here from the very first conversation.

As a pre-licensed professional completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP), I am currently completing my practicum under the qualified clinical supervision. That means you get two sets of eyes genuinely invested in your care.

Together, we will work toward a life that feels more like yours authentic, grounded, and free.

Who I Work With

You might be a good fit if you are:

  • You’re the strong one for everyone else and rarely have space to focus on yourself.
  • You struggle with anxiety, overthinking, stress, or burnout.
  • You’re navigating a major life transition such as immigration, career changes, relationships, parenthood, or identity exploration.
  • You often feel responsible for everything and find it difficult to slow down or ask for help.
  • You’re balancing multiple roles and feeling overwhelmed by competing demands.
  • You’re looking for a therapist who values culture, identity, and lived experience as important parts of healing.

My Approach

I work from an Existential-Humanistic foundation, meaning I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to help you better understand yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and meaningful. I weave in:

  • Trauma-Informed Care: because your history matters and we move at your pace
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): practical tools for managing anxiety and unhelpful thought patterns
  • Psychodynamic approaches:  exploring how your past might be quietly shaping your present
  • Culturally Responsive and Socially Just practice: your identity, background, and lived experience are not footnotes in our work. They are the foundation.
  • I bring active listening, genuine empathy, cultural humility, and a whole lot of curiosity to every session. No judgment. No cookie-cutter approaches. Just real, human connection.

What Can You Expect?

First, no pressure, no jargon, no pretending I have all the answers. What you can expect is:

  • A warm, safe, and confidential virtual space where you can actually exhale
  • Sessions tailored to what YOU need, not a one-size-fits-all script
  • Sliding scale fees designed to make therapy genuinely accessible
  • A therapist who is culturally curious, who shows up consistently, listens deeply, and takes your growth seriously
  • Transparency about the process, including the fact that I am a pre-licensed professional working under clinical supervision, which means you get two sets of eyes supporting your care.

Fees

I offer sliding scale and low-cost therapy options to make mental health support accessible regardless of your financial situation. Virtual sessions mean no commute, no waiting rooms, and therapy that fits into your actual life.

Ready to take the first step?

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re used to handling everything yourself. You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly where to start.

If you’re curious about working together, I invite you to book a free consultation so we can talk about what’s bringing you here and whether we feel like a good fit
