As a registered nurse since 2006, I have experienced the reality that mental health is integral to every aspect of life, health, and well-being. As a sexual assault/intimate partner violence forensic nurse examiner, I have provided trauma and violence-informed care and therapy for a number of needs. As a nurse, I have provided counselling and therapy services for my entire career. As a survivor of postpartum trauma, PTSD and moral injury, I have a unique view and ability to assist my clients in their therapy journey. I am also a post-op bariatric client who sees the “you” in you! Using several different modalities (CBT, DBT, IBT, Trauma and Violence Informed Therapy and brainspotting), I can provide a therapeutic experience that is client-driven, wellness-focused and informed by a holistic view of person, family and community. My doctorate in nursing practice and master’s degree in nursing, further show my dedication to the importance of understanding mental wellness in the context of overall physical health.
