Therapy is not just seeking support when you are in crisis, sometimes, we just need a check-up and work on a few things, just like when we go see a physician for our physical health needs. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for support and experience vulnerability with a stranger. I value the importance of a client-centered relationship and meeting clients where they are at to build trust, safety, and acceptance in the therapeutic relationship. I believe that we all can work towards change if we have access to a supportive and safe environment to explore our own unique stories. I practice from an integrative and person-centered perspective that is rooted in common factor theory, and compassion. I draw from therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Based Therapy (SFBT), and Narrative therapy.
