RP (Q), BA, BSc
Nice to meet you! My name is Stephanie, and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I’m passionate about working with individuals and couples impacted by addiction. My trauma-informed, empathetic approach to counselling focuses on uncovering and healing attachment wounds that contribute to the formation of addictions.
I utilize a multimodal and integrative person-centred approach, incorporating evidence-based techniques such as the Gottman Method, CBT, DBT, IFS, EFT, ACT, and Trauma-Focused CBT. I practice within a social justice framework that supports respect for all. I am trans-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and LGBTQ2+ allied.
My experience treating adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, complex PTSD, and parent-child boundary issues such as enmeshment allow me to assist those who have previously struggled to see progress on their recovery journey. I have experience treating those with co-morbidities that can exacerbate addiction as well as interfere with the recovery process. I am conversationally fluent in Lebanese Arabic and can apply a multicultural lens to the understanding and treatment of addiction in culturally diverse individuals and couples.
I am a member of the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals. I am currently working towards additional certification in multiple IITAP programs.
Additional Areas of Competence: I work with Sex Addiction, Betrayed Partners, and couples.
