Hello, my name is Stephen, and I am a counselling practicum student completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I am based in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, and provide counselling services under clinical supervision at Counselling for All. I am insured through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
I strive to create a supportive, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and respected. My approach is integrative, drawing primarily from cognitive-behavioural and person-centred frameworks, while remaining flexible and responsive to each client’s individual needs, goals, and lived experiences.
I am particularly interested in supporting adolescents and adults experiencing stress, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and challenges related to relationships, identity, or performance. With a background in education and athletics, I bring an understanding of the pressures faced by students, young adults, and individuals involved in high-performance or competitive environments.
I value collaboration, practical skill-building, and reflection, helping clients better understand their patterns while developing tools they can use outside of sessions. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel safe, supported, and empowered to move forward at their own pace.
