As a therapist my greatest priority is to create an accepting and compassionate therapeutic space where you can feel safe to be yourself, exactly as you are, and talk about your challenges. My wish is that you leave our sessions feeling supported, heard, and hopeful that change is possible! Together, we can gently explore what is getting in your way and preventing you from living a more comfortable and fulfilling life. Through collaboration, we can find creative ways to build upon your strengths and resources so that you can start to feel more resilient and better able to cope with whatever life throws your way.
I am a newcomer to the counselling profession with valuable lived experience that deepens my understanding and empathy for those who suffer. I am a strong advocate of inclusivity and have extensive professional and personal experience in the field of social services working with individuals from marginalized groups. I practice psychotherapy under the close supervision of Shirley Katz, PhD, RP, CCC, a caring and attentive supervisor with several years of experience in practice and teaching at the graduate level at UBC. With her highly skilled supervision, I can ensure your needs are being met and we are progressing towards your goals, at your desired pace, during our time together.
As an LGBTQ2+ affirmative practitioner, I aim to provide affordable and culturally inclusive therapy that embraces diversity. I use a holistic and person-centered approach to help adults of all ages manage mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, self-defeating/addictive behaviours, low self-esteem, shame/guilt, lack of assertiveness, and relationship issues. I draw upon elements of different evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Existential-Humanistic Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
All my sessions are conducted online at a cost of $80.00 per session, with limited spots for minimal fee services. I offer a free initial 30 minutes consultation to help you determine if we are a good fit.
