If you are reading this, you might be feeling tired and as though you are stuck in a repeating cycle. Perhaps you feel everything is so effortful and are finding it difficult to balance everything. Or maybe you have been struggling with your body image, self-confidence, and eating habits. Maybe some of these things resonate or sound similar to what you are going through. Regardless of what led you here, reaching out for support takes true courage, and you do not have to be alone.
I primarily work with those experiencing challenges including anxiety, burnout, depression, low self-esteem, stress, relationship issues, eating concerns, and negative body image. My focus also surrounds supporting neurodivergent folks (ADHD/Autism/Learning Disabilities).
My approach emphasizes warmth and non-judgement. I believe therapy is not just about ‘fixing’ things. Instead, therapy can be helpful as it allows us to develop insight into the reasons behind the challenges, which can also lead to change.
I aim to provide you with a safe and collaborative space as I walk alongside you in this journey. You are the expert in your story, so we will work together as a team in sessions. Therapy is not ‘one size fits all’ and rather should be adapted to suit your individual goals. I align with this view and tend to take an integrative approach in sessions. Everyone’s story is different, and each person has unique goals; we will explore this further in our first meetings to ensure our work is tailored to you.
As a Therapist Intern, I am under the supervision of a Registered Psychotherapist. I have previously completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at York University, and I am currently completing a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto. Aside from my education, I have previously volunteered with both the Kids Help Phone and National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC) helplines. My undergraduate research and work experience have also focused on neurodiversity. This has only fuelled my passion for these areas and informed how I approach sessions.
Outside of sessions, I love spending time with my family, friends, and beloved cat. I also love trying new cafés and activities such as Pilates. These help me keep grounded and allow me to ‘fill my cup’.
I am available most weekdays and evenings virtually or in-person (at the Vaughan or Markham location). I am also available weekend mornings, depending on what works best for your schedule. If you feel we might be a good fit, I welcome you to book a free 15-20 minute consultation by either emailing me at taylora.ysc@gmail.com or through the link on my profile. I look forward to meeting you!
