About…

You give a lot to others, but what about your self? With nearly 10 years experience working in helping professions and leading my peers, I understand how incredibly challenging the helping professions can be. It can be thankless, tragic, misunderstood and stressful; impacting multiple aspects of our lives. But, it doesn’t have to. Together, we can tackle the mental health impacts arising from this work; develop resiliency against adversity, revitalize purpose, and find joy. To help others, we must first help our selves.

My Approach

My approach to psychotherapy is integrative and ecological, combining Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Relational Therapy. This offers a holistic way to support my clients needs. CBT helps identify and reframe negative thought patterns and understand the connection between behaviour, emotions, and cognitions, while through Narrative Therapy, I empower my clients to re-author their life stories, emphasizing personal meaning and agency. Relational Therapy focuses on the therapeutic relationship itself, encouraging healing through authentic, empathetic connection. This combined approach fosters self-awareness, emotional regulation, and meaningful change. It’s especially effective in addressing complex emotional and relational issues within a supportive, collaborative framework.

Who this is for

My area of specialization is working with people who are in a helping profession; whether through employment, volunteering or those who otherwise give a lot of their time and energy to others. This includes Shelter Workers, PSW’s, SW’s, RSSW’s, DSW’s, Community Support Services, Nurses, Family Caregivers, Teachers, Emergency Responders and others. However, if you’re experiencing similar challenges as those below, I am happy to work with you. I provide counselling, therapy, and professional coaching and development for the following challenges.

  • Burnout, Compassion Fatigue & Occupational Stress
  • Disillusionment, Disenchantment & Moral Injury
  • Grief & Loss
  • Self Worth
  • Hopelessness
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Organizational Trauma
  • Critical Incident Debriefing
  • Emotional Regulation
  • Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes, Self-Care, Resiliency Building and Professional Coaching

How it Works

To get started, send me an email, text, or give me a call. If I don’t answer when you call, leave me a voicemail or send an email letting me know that you’re interested in a consultation and I’ll get back to you to schedule a date and time that works.

I offer free 15 minute consultations. If you want to move forward following our consult, I’ll send you some documents to review and sign. When you submit these along with payment, we will schedule our first session. Sessions are 50 minutes. While searching for a new therapist, it’s common to meet a few before deciding on the one you want to work with. I believe it takes longer than 15 minutes to really know if you’ve found a good fit. To help keep these “exploratory” costs down, I offer your first 50 minute full session at $35.00 (no tax). Finances shouldn’t be a barrier to get the help we need, so my rate is allows affordable.
