Welcome! My name is Taylor (she/her) and I am a psychotherapy intern currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Therapy degree from Yorkville University. While completing my graduate work I have been working as an Instructor Therapist for children with autism spectrum disorders. I am passionate about breaking down barriers to counselling services and ensuring support is accessible and available to everyone. I aim to provide a safe, welcoming, non-judgmental space in which you feel accepted, supported, and heard.
My approach to therapy is humanistic and client-centered, meaning I seek to empower you with the capacity to discover your own strength and resilience in the face of your challenges. I incorporate tenets from a variety of modalities including narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and mindfulness interventions, as we work together to determine a fitting path for you. I believe that counselling is a collaborative process, and strive to cultivate a trusting, respectful, strong therapeutic alliance. It is important to me that you feel safe in the counselling environment and comfortable with bringing each piece of your whole self into the process.
I admire the strength and self-awareness that it takes to reach out for support, and am passionate about providing a safe, welcoming, respectful environment for my clients. I am passionate about focusing on inner strengths and resilience and will draw from a variety of methodologies as we collaborate to develop a tailored therapeutic plan that will work for you.
