About…

Tom (he/him) is a Métis Ph.D. student in Clinical and Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto working under the supervision of registered clinical psychologists. Tom has received clinical training across community, university, and private practice settings. Before beginning his doctoral training, he spent over six years working in community mental health and social services across Metro Vancouver, supporting Indigenous communities and diverse populations through social work, youth outreach, and harm reduction services.

Tom completed his master’s practicum at an Indigenous-focused psychotherapy clinic, where he provided individual and group psychotherapy to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, grief, interpersonal difficulties, and identity-related concerns using Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Through the University of Toronto’s OISE Psychology Clinic, he also completed comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for ADHD and learning concerns. He currently provides psychotherapy and conducts psychodiagnostic and psychological assessments with adolescents and adults in private practice. Across these roles, Tom has worked with clients experiencing mood and anxiety disorders, trauma- and stress-related concerns, substance use, relationship difficulties, emotion regulation challenges, and neurodevelopmental concerns.

Tom approaches therapy with warmth, curiosity, and authenticity. He believes meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood. His work is grounded in person-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care and integrates Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Tom is committed to tailoring treatment to each individual’s unique strengths, values, and lived experiences while supporting clients in creating meaningful, lasting change.
