Tina (she/her) is currently a counsellor in training under the supervision of Kiran Dosanjh. She received a bachelor’s in forensic psychology from St. Francis Xavier University (Antigonish, Nova Scotia) and is obtaining a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She has a background in leadership, mental health and addiction support, and harm reduction. Tina utilizes a variety of therapy approaches, including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), client-centered therapy, mindfulness, and narrative therapy. I graduated with my BA in Psychology in 2020, and began my Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology in 2022. I am now a counselling intern. I work with clients who may be struggling with a number of different mental illnesses or personal issues. During our initial sessions, we will go over a complete biopsychosocial history and collaboratively create goals for counselling. I practice from a culturally sensitive and socially just framework and incorporate an anti-racist and feminist lens in my efforts to support your path to wellness. I often use cognitive behavioural therapy or solution-focused therapy in my practice. In your first session, we will go over what brought you to counselling and identify your primary concerns. During treatment, we will explore how thoughts and behaviours affect each other, and use specific techniques to help you take back control over your life in a positive way. My goal is to help you thrive.
