I am excited to announce I will be accepting new clients virtually and in person in May through First Light Therapy in Napanee, Ontario. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and my background is in nursing and disability studies.
I offer counselling services to youth, adults and couples. I have integrated my training and focus on counselling clients struggling with self-esteem, body dysmorphia, relationship issues, emotional regulation, anxiety and trauma.
Youth today have faced challenges like never before. When someone older talks about their life, they usually mention how their youth years formed the foundation of their future. This is concerning for many families today as technology bombards not only our children but our loved ones with unrealistic thoughts and ideals from social media, time loss from participating in anything that genuinely provides satisfaction or accomplishment, loss of sleep, and, most significantly, it interferes with our ability to form or maintain meaningful connections. It is thus a concern that technology impacts all areas of their lives. The pandemic showed us how significant relationships are to people and that those in-person connections enable us to thrive.
Yes, we are still living in an unprecedented time of change and uncertainty; we all long for connection but may not have the skills to establish and sustain healthy relationships. Finding a safe and confidential place to talk, problem solve, connect, set goals, and manage stressors and emotions so that you can focus on the things that truly matter to you.
