Hi there! My name is Valerie.
For as long as I can remember, the desire to help others has been a huge part of me. Through studying and working in the field of counselling, this desire has become a passion – a passion to support others through hardships, and promote well-being and personal growth.
Throughout my practice as a Crisis Intervention Worker and Mental Health Counsellor, as well as my personal experience in mental health, I’ve developed particular skills in the areas of anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem and women’s issues (including parenting, interpersonal relationships, and gender-based violence).
My approach to therapy comes from an understanding that a lot of what we do and how we feel, is influenced by the way we think. By gaining a deeper understanding of these connections, we are able to transform our outlook on life into one that more positively benefits us!
As your therapist, it is my goal to offer a comfortable and non-judgmental space for self-exploration and development. I would love the opportunity to work with you as we explore areas in which you would like to see positive changes, and discover the best way forward and up!
