There are times when life gets hard, messy or shaken up, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, or lost reckoning with somethings we didn’t expect to. There are also times when we simply get that nagging feeling that there’s something we want to address, and maybe start to feel curious about what healing can be for us. Whether you’re looking to address something specific in the present, want to explore painful experiences in the past, want to gain perspective and understanding, or are looking for a supportive space (or a mix of all of that!); I hope we can work to create that unique space that will be supportive of your path in therapy.
As a therapist, I am moved by our capacity to survive, heal, grow and connect to both ourselves and meaningful aspects of our lives. I believe that healing is in the process of understanding and reconnecting to all parts of our selves and these capacities, and can look different for each of us, over time. It may look like accessing strengths and support to survive that tough time, or switch to gradually getting in touch with what hurts. In order to be supportive of this process I access different approaches, with my main lenses being person-centered, relational/psychodynamic and emotion-focused, within a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework. This means that as we connect in therapy, I hope to build a therapeutic relationship with you that is based on shared understanding, curiosity and compassion to explore and reconnect with yourself and your emotions. I also strive to create a space that acknowledges and explores different aspects of your identity, and your experiences within the contexts that shape(d) your life.
I welcome working with different experiences however big or small they may feel, whether that be stress/burnout, student life, depression, anxiety, relationships with others, relationship with self, trauma related, something in the past, etc. If you’d like to connect and explore the possibility of working together, I encourage you to reach out for a free consultation via the website/booking link provided on the left, or at the email address below.
